The Passion Window

passionThe Passion Window

This is one of the most interesting of Westminster’s windows. The perspective on the crucifixion is from behind, with Jesus hanging lifelessly from the cross (Mark 15:16-39). The cross, anchored in the green hill, has the skull in the lower right hand corner of the window symbolizing Golgotha (which means The Place of a Skull) (Mark 15:22). Standing in the foreground to the left is the Roman Centurion who witnessed the death of Jesus and confessed, “Truly this man was the Son of God!” (Mark 15:39).
